The Port of Santa Marta is located at the northwestern end the city, surrounded to the north by San Martín Hill, to the west by Ancón Hill and Taganguilla Cove. The Port is located between latitude 11º 15' North and longitude 74º13' West. The port serves users 24 hours a day and all year round at seven docks, also offering safe storage services at its warehouses and yards. Furthermore, Santa Marta is the only port on the Atlantic Coast where railways enter port facilities, thus offering at docks direct loading and unloading possibilities.
